BENNETT-Ethel B. (nee Brodie) April 22, 1987 of Springville, NY. Wife of The funeral coach above dates back to about 1894 the time my Great Grandfather started our firm. Looking at it, a person can only reflect on how many changes 100 years have brought! Many of our needs and desires have changed with the times. However, some things will never change.

Most especially, the value we place on family and friends; and along with it the family's need for compassion and sharing during times of grief and loss. While the funeral's purpose of sharing hasn't changed in the past 100 years; in today's complex society, the funeral itself has. So much more can be done today things that a generation ago weren't believed possible. Contact your funeral director; he can be helpful in planning for your needs. FRANK L.

Metro Rail Considering 7-Day Week By DAN HERBECK The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority has been pleased by recent ridership figures for Metro Rail and is considering a start of full weekend service this summer, Executive Director Alfred H. Savage said Thursday.

"We're certainly considering full weekend service," Savage said. "In the long run, it's inevitable." Metro Rail now has no regular Sunday service, but does operate trains for special events in the downtown area and a "Sabres Express" runs Sunday nights when the Buffalo Sabres play in Memorial Auditorium. On Saturdays, Metro Rail runs a limited 8:30 a.m.-to-6:30 p.m. schedule, with additional running hours for special events. The downtown business community has long supported full weekend service.

The former Toronto Transit Commission executive said he has spent much of his time examining Metro Rail ridership trends since taking over the NFTA on April 13. He said the numbers have been on an encouraging rise since the openings of the LaSalle and South Campus stations last November. Recent ridership figures released by the NFTA put weekday ridership at about 28,000 a day and Saturday service at 10,000 to 15,000. These numbers do not include the persons who ride for free on the downtown transit mall section. The weekday numbers are up by about 8,000 over the daily average before the opening of the LaSalle and South Campus stations.

Ridership figures have never approached the figure projected by the NFTA in 1981. Dead Flier's Kin To Get $3 Million TAMPA, Fla. (AP) A federal jury awarded $3.1 million Thursday to the family and estate of Air Force Capt. Ted Harduvel, 35, killed when his F-16 fighter crashed into a cloud-shrouded South Korean mountainside in 1982. The suit against General Dynamics the plane's builder, maintained that defective electrical wiring caused the crash of the $14 million jet.

The jury awarded $750,000 each to Harduvel's widow, Janet Harduvel, 35, and their daughter, Kiki, 7, and $1.6 million to Harduvel's estate. Mrs. Harduvel challenged the design and manufacture of the jet and claimed the builder knew of defects, especially in its control wiring. General Dynamics and the Air Force claimed pilot error caused the crash because Harduvel had been taking strong antibiotic medication up to three days before his last flight and lost control after suffering an adverse reaction to the antibiotic, which he was taking for a prostate disorder.
