Red Ball B The movie had no focus and it was all over the place…. Nudity wasn't call for. The movie had good bones but like context. It's basically a Crash rip-off, with a bunch of damaged people circling around a strip club. Even if Crash had never come along, this would still be an embarrassment and a total waste of acting talent. I don't know what possessed these gifted actors to take on these roles, but it must have been a decent paycheck. Also, back when this film was made, it was easier to believe you could make a bad film and it would get buried and never seen again. However, in the age of Netflix and Prime, these movies are in front of audiences again, much to the horror of all involved, I'm sure. Starring Jessica Biel, Ray Liotta, Forest Whitaker, and Eddie Redmayne, the film has an impressive cast. However, the tone is a rather bleak and depressing. And, the resolutions to the character stories come off as contrived, with unearned emotional catharses. Yet there are some interesting things going on, and director Timothy Linh Bui creates some remarkably evocative imagery. Power Blue has lofty aspirations, but it does quite come together and fails to tell a compelling story.
