One of my favorite things about living in Brooklyn is the many stoops sales when the weather is nice. Sometimes you find exactly what you have been wising for.

I’ve had an LL Bean Hunter’s Tote in camouflage on my wish list for a long time (proof of this), not to take on a hunting trip, but to use as a sturdy travel bag.

One stoop sale I was in the right place at the right time as I spotted the exact bag for $5. Not sure who (or what?) the “Haggis” are but thank you for putting you bag up for sale!

I’m always in the market for reusuable tote bags and had been wanting to check out BAGGU since reading about the bags on Camp Comfort and
Wiksten.

I ended up picking up two in one day while taking a stroll around my new neighborhood of Park Slope, Brooklyn. The duck bag was first as I spotted it hanging up at Bird on Fifth Ave. I couldn’t decide between olive or stone, but stone eventually won out.

My second BAGGU of the day was found at Diane Kane also on Fifth. Having long admired anything from No. 6 but unable to justify the prices, I was especially excited to see they still had the reusable bags from the No. 6+BAGGU collection. I love the vibrant blue color and the tiny animal print.

So far the No. 6 reusable tote had gotten the most use, and I keep it in my daily bag all the time. The duck bag is a little too tall for me to use as a daily commuting bag (everything falls to the bottom) but it is great for weekends, or as we recently discovered carrying Christmas presents around when traveling.

Next up I plan to buy the BAGGU zippered bag (animal prints!) so I can finally organize my travel and daily makeup pouches.

For some reason I always feel like I need to have a unique bag for the summer. During hot months leather seems so heavy and oppressive, and I want to carry something lightweight and slightly beachy. For the past too summers I’ve been happily using my JCrew straw tote, but this summer it just wasn’t doing it for me.

A few weeks ago I stopped by the Rockefeller Center Anthro to check out the sale section and found the beautiful Puckered Canvas Bag and it is the best summer bag I’ve found yet. Perfect size and it looks good with all my summer outfits. I’m not to fond of the name thought, so from now on I will be calling it my “Last Days of Summer Bag”.

I was going to write whole blog review about the Christian Siriano line for Payless…but then my favorite Fashion Herald went and did all the work for me..MWAAHAHAHA…so I’m going to be lazy and just link.

My takeaway for this line is that it is super fun & fierce and SUPER impractical, which I assume is exactly what Christian set out to do. I already have a closet full of insane high heels that are beautiful but I never wear since I can’t walk more than one block in them, so why add to the pile?

Lots of shoes at the 34th Street & Broadway store. The will be showing up on Sept 8th for all the non-Manhattan folk.

Beautiful peep toe pumps with ankle straps

Ankle strap in full force

Beautiful attention to detail, especially for a Payless shoes. But where would I wear it?

I also checked out some of the other designer shoes and I am one again linking to Fashion Herald’s review. My verdict? I am waiting for the Dauphin to show up. Now there is an impractical shoe I would take a chance on!

I had some major shopping scores this weekend.

I got this beautiful silver necklace (originally from Mexico) for $40 from Stray Vintage down the block from my apt.

I got this lovely Queens Maptote, also from Stray. For $20 I now have a new gym bag!

And my best purchase of the weekend: a beautiful credenza for my apt entry way for $150 (+$35 delivery fee). I love the spindly legs! I’ve been searching for something like this for two years. I almost gave up and ordered something from IKEA last weekend, but it paid to wait. I got it at the Salvation Army in Astoria, Queens. I was just walking by and saw them putting it out and had to wait around for them to write out a price tag. Then I had to basically sneak the delivery guys into the building since they don’t allow furniture deliveries on weekends, but it was all worth it!

It also came with the bookshelf piece that sits onto the credenza. Not sure if I prefer it like this, but I’m going to keep it for a while and see if I need the extra bookshelf space.
