LL Bean Bags

Now that I have an hour long commute everyday, instead of my previous commute from the bathroom to the dining room table, I’ve been keeping an eye out for some good sensible commuting bags.

LL Bean has a good selection of totes, and you can’t beat their customer service as we all learned in Marketing 101.

I’ve found myself quite facinated with the Hunter’s Tote Bag, Zip-Top in camouflage, of course. And if a bag can stand up to “waterfowling, dog training or shooting” it can probably handle the MBTA.

My only complaint is that the handles look very short and I couldn’t sling the bag over my shoulder.

    I have been commuting with an LL Bean tote for almost a year now. The zip top is a must and they also make ones with long handles, however I don’t think they make the Hunter’s tote with long handles.

    I live in Boston too. I use to have a smaller “around town” tote but It was too small. I found this new llbean bag and it’s awesome. They sold out and removed the listing but i just checked today and they have more. I’m thinking of getting it in olive drab. If you go to llbean and type in “Canvas leather bag” under the search menu it will take you right to the bag. They have a smaller purse version but the bag is tops! I love it.     You know, if you call LL Bean and ask nicely, they might work a miracle or suggest something very similar. There might be a cost involved, but I come from the “doesn’t ever hurt to ask” school of thought.

    I’ve always had very good luck with Bean’s customer service - even when it came to finding parts for my now very dead campus carryall, which had been removed from the catalog a few years before the final repair.
